Tally Connector

Use the Tally connector when your accounting data lives in TallyPrime or Tally.ERP 9 and should be analyzed through AnalytAI.

Before connecting Tally, ensure you have:

  • TallyPrime or Tally.ERP 9 running on the target machine
  • the Tally XML or ODBC service enabled
  • the organization VPN ready if Tally is only available on a local or office machine
  1. Open Tally on the machine that hosts the data.
  2. Go to F1: Help -> Settings -> Connectivity.
  3. Set TallyPrime is acting as to Both or Server.
  4. Set Enable ODBC to Yes.
  5. Set the port to 9000 unless your setup uses a different value.
  6. Restart Tally.

Step 2: Connect the machine through the VPN

Section titled “Step 2: Connect the machine through the VPN”

If Tally runs on a local or office machine, connect that machine through the organization VPN first.

  1. Ensure NetBird is active by running netbird status.
  2. Note the VPN IP or DNS label shown for the device.
  3. Grant port 9000 for that device from Organization -> VPN if the port is private.
  1. Create or open the project that should use Tally.
  2. Select Tally as the source.
  3. Enter the connection details:
    • Host: the VPN IP or DNS label for the connected device, or localhost only for local testing on the same machine
    • Port: 9000 or the port you configured in Tally
  4. Click Test Connection.
  1. Choose the Tally company you want to analyze.
  2. Set the start and end dates for the sync.
  3. Click Review & Create.

AnalytAI will sync the selected company data and make it available for setup, onboarding, and chat.

  • Connection failed: confirm Tally is open and the XML server port is correct
  • VPN issues: confirm the device is online in Organization -> VPN
  • No companies found: make sure at least one company is currently open in Tally
